Fixing Dash Cam Glare and Reflections
Glare from the dashboard and reflections in the windshield are among the most common footage complaints, and both have straightforward fixes.
Add a CPL filter
A circular polarizing filter is the most effective fix, cutting the reflection of your dashboard off the windshield for clearer daytime footage.
Reduce dashboard reflections
A dark, non-reflective dashboard mat reduces what the windshield can reflect. Removing bright objects from the dash helps too.
Position and clean
Mounting the camera close to the glass and keeping both the lens and windshield clean minimizes haze and stray reflections.
